The Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is housed in a state-of-the-art facility in a newly expanded and renovated building.

We have access to teaching and research equipment and resources that can help you launch a successful career. You will teach alongside our expert faculty in our spiral curriculum, where we integrate the expertise of our clinical and research faculty to create an environment where students are coached to make connections between research and practice.

Our proximity to and collaborations with Boys Town National Research Hospital, Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Center for Brain, Biology and Behavior (CB3), and the University of Nebraska Medical Center may provide opportunities for you to build your program of research.

Additionally, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the College of Education and Human Sciences have extensive support for early-career faculty, including the development of grant proposals, teaching and course development, and overall career development.

We are searching for a faculty member, at the rank of Assistant Professor, with expertise in audiology to join our collaborative faculty.

Our position is tenure-leading with a nine-month appointment. Specific areas of interest include hearing / balance sciences, vestibular assessment / management, cognition, and auditory physiology.

Other areas of basic or applied research will be considered.

Responsibilities Establish a vigorous, extramurally funded, and collaborative program of research; teach undergraduate or graduate courses in the candidate’s area of expertise or closely related areas;

mentor and direct student research; and provide professional outreach and service in the department, college, university, and broader community.

More About Us The Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders () houses graduate programs in Audiology, Speech Language Pathology, and Special Education.

The Audiology program is ranked in the top 20. Faculty are solving problems with global hearing health, communication access, hearing aids, cochlear implants, and neuroimaging.

We have collaborations with the Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families, and Schools and with the departments of engineering, athletics, and psychology.
