Regional Account Manager - Rare Disease - Epilepsy

Regional Account Manager - Chicago

Territory includes Chicago, Indianapolis and Saint Louis

Reporting to the Area Business Director, the Regional Account Manager (RAM) is responsible for representing Marinus product to physicians and healthcare professionals, establishing product sales, and performing total territory account management.

The RAM is also responsible for providing account management support to Centers of Excellence and Epilepsy Accounts within a specific territory.

Here's what you will do :

  • Develop a comprehensive and effective territory business plan aimed at achieving and exceeding annual sales goals established by commercial leadership.
  • Promote within approved product labeling in a comprehensive, fair and balanced manner with integrity and consistent with industry specific and corporate legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Meet with healthcare professionals in hospitals, clinics, physician offices and similar locations and following all rules of these facilities for gaining access and conducting business within the facilities.
  • Use data and field insights to follow up on and uncover new leads which will generate new referrals.
  • Travel within the territory to meet with healthcare professionals and to Marinus headquarters and other locations as required.
  • Serve as a resource for information to customers and a resource / consultant to Marinus Staff regarding local, regional and national payer policies, reimbursement regulations and processes.
  • Consistently meets or exceeds corporate sales goals.
  • Communicate territory activity in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provide feedback to sales and commercial leadership, colleagues, marketing, and other internal departments about changing environment and results.
  • Adhere to Marinus' compliance policies and guidelines as well as any other applicable laws, rules and guidelines, including but not limited to PhRMA Code.
  • Successfully completes all Marinus training classes.
  • Manages efforts within assigned promotional and operational budget.
  • Maximizes use of approved resources to achieve territory and account level goals.
  • Attends medical congresses and society meetings as needed.
  • Possess integrity, work with honesty, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Work on other responsibilities assigned by your manager.

Your background will include :

  • Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of sales success. Consistently achieving or exceeding sales goals.
  • In-depth experience with Rare Disease and / or Rare Neurology and / or Specialty selling experience is required.
  • Experience in Rare Epilepsy selling strongly preferred.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and key performance metrics to identify business opportunities.
  • Reimbursement / Specialty Pharmacy experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and VEEVA is required.
  • Strong clinical and scientific acumen with the ability to communicate with and influence HCP's.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and relationship management skills required.
  • Highly collaborative with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptive leadership style with ability to influence without formal authority.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record is required.
  • Required to meet health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and organizations that are in your assigned territory.

These HCIR credentialing requirements may include, but are not limited to, background checks, drug screens, and proof of immunization / vaccination for various diseases.

  • Fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
  • Minimum 50% travel including overnight and weekend commitments, will be required based upon business needs.

Compensation Range and Benefits :

For this role, the anticipated base salary range : $165,000 to $180,000, based on the candidate's professional experience level.

The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to skills, education, and experience.
