Senior Global Product Manager - Upstream at TSI

The Senior Global Product Manager Upstream Software and Cloud Solutions is responsible for developing the product roadmap, executing on projects defined in the roadmap, and participating as a key member on new product development teams.

The position is responsible for identifying business opportunities, conducting Voice of Customer (VOC), developing value propositions, and associated business and product requirements.

You will lead new product development (NPD) efforts, launching products and be responsible for NPD metrics.

You will meet annually established financial and strategic objectives set by VP of Marketing. You will work closely with the following internal TSI Departments : Product Development, Business Development, Advanced Technology, Downstream Marketing, Sales, and Marketing Communications in the definition and execution of planned initiatives designed to optimize growth and profitability of TSI’s Cloud Solutions for both new-to-world and existing TSI products.

The individual in this position is a key addition to the team in helping to drive the integration of sensor-based instruments with the capabilities of the Cloud to deliver advanced monitoring solutions including SaaS initiatives.

Your system-level thinking will help our team understand the art of the possible .

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will :

  • Drive AOP actions to meet / exceed plan. Lead / Influence team of product managers, application engineers and product specialists to drive AOP / GTM actions and engagement.
  • Define, implement and maintain the overall product marketing strategy and roadmap for SaaS strategies across all TSI value streams.

This would include : price, promotion and channel.

Analyze information regarding market drivers, technology developments, intellectual property landscape, regulatory drivers and competitor posturing of assigned product line segments.

Recommend project priorities based on findings.

  • Develop business cases for identified opportunities, including revenue potential, market risks and uncertainties, and collaborate with engineering and sales to develop ROI estimates for recommended product / service proposals.
  • Participate in cross-functional innovation teams to analyze markets and develop new product and service strategies. Encourage free thinking and collaboration amongst team, but make sure that they remain focused on the business objective you have provided.
  • Evaluate adjacent and new market segments for assigned value stream(s). Develop market segment revenue potential. Identify and propose market-based solutions offering growth potential.
  • Partner with the Business Development team to define strategic product / technology gaps in our current SaaS offering.

Identify potential partners and acquisitions to fill identified gaps.

Work closely with Product Development teams, providing customer needs (critical customer requirements) input. Along with Program Manager, Systems Engineer and Product Owners, provide leadership to the Product Development team and collaborate on cost / benefit analysis and solution feature set.

Be an active team member, professionally completing assigned NPD process documentation.

Collaborate with Marketing Communication and Product Marketing Specialist team members on the development of multi-media marketing programs to support lead generation and advance prospects to sales.

Contribute to training of sales, including direct sales and channel partners.

  • Manage a general collaboration portal that collects and analyzes key data for making product decisions. Data will include lost sales analysis, product enhancement requests, market research data, customer complaints and satisfaction ratings, novel end user applications, unmet customer needs and pertinent technology developments.
  • Assess existing business processes and identify opportunities to increase efficiencies.
  • Manage price review program for assigned products, including conducting benchmarking activities. Recommend price levels.

Implement updated pricing.

  • Analyze financial performance of SaaS offerings.
  • Work with UI / UX designers to create amazing customer product experience.
  • Work jointly with our data analytics team to explore Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications.
  • Travel as required by business to support activities such as customer and channel partner engagement, training, new product launches, and visiting potential business partners.

What Do You Need?

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive product management experience required, exhibiting increased levels of responsibility in scope
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise software, SaaS solutions, mobile applications and / or cloud-based software

Desired

  • B2B experience
  • International Business experience
  • Experience in instrumentation
  • Operational experience (manufacturing, technical support, engineering)
  • Platform product management experience, building products that can be leveraged by a variety of business customers; Internet of Things applications, platforms and technologies
  • Work in or experience managing products in subscriptions and / or digital services business
  • Application of advanced data analytics
  • Experience with value-based pricing for software features

Knowledge

  • Strategic Market Plans, including clearly defined Product Roadmap for the product line
  • High Performance instrumentation solutions and service
  • Voice of Customer methodology, Strategic Marketing framework, Pricing tools and techniques
  • P&L Management experience
  • This position requires travel - approximately 25%
