Industrial Service Overhead Crane Technician - St. Louis, MO

Compensation32 to 42 per hour

Our Industrial Crane Installation and Service business continues to grow our customer base and expand into new areas, and we are always on the lookout for strong service technicians to be part of our team! We've been an independently owned company for over 60+ years and still have family roots.

We are a material handling equipment fabrication and service company based in the Midwest with customers from coast to coast.

This role will be based out of our St. Louis location.

The Service Technician will run electrical and mechanical diagnostics and deliver required repairs. They are responsible for performing comprehensive quality inspections, required repairs, and preventative maintenance services on overhead cranes, hoists, and associated parts.

They will spend a majority of their time on clients' sites providing service, and as such, are also frontline representatives of the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Troubleshoot and repair overhead cranes, crane controls, hoists and drives.
• Inspect overhead industrial cranes and hoists.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment.
• Proper use of a man lift during service.
• Evaluate and communicate with customers recommendations requiring repairs.
• Communicate with management and sales as to what further needs the customer could have.
• Maintains time tracking per job and reports any product concerns or inconsistencies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

CORE SKILLS :

• Ability to read and understand work instructions, manuals, and schematics.
• Ability to read and execute fabrication drawings.
• Ability to manage time to a schedule and accountable for reporting per job.
• Ability to properly maintain and perform basic troubleshooting on equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office or related software as necessary to complete logs or records.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2-4 years' work experience as a technician in an industrial environment.
• Mechanical and electrical skills ideally learned from a trade school.
• Overhead crane experience not required, but familiarity and exposure to working on cranes and hoists a definite plus.
• Welding aptitude would be a benefit.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Demonstrated positive attendance record.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

• Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Ability to frequently walk, climb, kneel, bend, reach overhead, push, pull, and use a ladder or stool.
• Frequently exposed to heat, cold, noise and heights.
• Ability to work in outside conditions during all seasons.
• Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble parts or machines as directed.
• Must wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay Details : 66,560.00 to 87,360.00 per hour
