Bilingual Behavioral Health Therapist - LICSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LPC
Job Summary :
We are seeking a social worker for a role as a Field Child Well-Being Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will be on-site and on-call in a DHS facility to provide support through professional opinions, technical expertise, and technical assistance regarding child wellbeing and trauma informed care to DHS staff.
Duties :
- Deploy to other sites during surges and as needed
- Work across stakeholder groups to ensure once trauma-informed care and activities are appropriately implemented, they are sustained and modified if needed, to promote integration with the operational mission.
- Engage with children to support their well-being including identification of children in distress, conducting psychiatric triage, when needed.
- Coordinate seamless referral of children to community behavioral or physical health providers, if necessary.
- Assist in the coordination of care for children at the request of CBP facilities leadership, including direct support to Supervisors, Agents, Medical Staff, and Caregivers in handling children who have special needs or ongoing physical, mental, or behavioral health concerns.
- Serve as a daily resource to DHS staff through escalating a child’s identified psychosocial needs and providing direct care to children in crisis.
- Facilitate connection across all the existing services within the facility to support the well-being of children.
- Assist in the documentation and information transfer for individual cases, upon request from Sector and Facility leadership, due to the complex requirements for special placements with HHS and other downstream partners.
- Provide regular information regarding child wellbeing during musters or other regular staff meetings at the facility level.
- Conduct environmental scans of the facilities to recommend and implement appropriate and operationally feasible measures are taken to create a child friendly environment.
- Duties are performed via a government approved computer system. Employees are required to possess strong computer skills in MS Word and Excel.
- Perform related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice.
- Successful communication, compliant documentation, and successful interpretation within an effective turnaround time.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills :
- Master’s degree in Social Work or an equivalent degree in Psychology, Sociology, or other relevant Behavioral Science
- Independent and unrestricted licensure can be LICSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LPC or equivalent required
- 2 or more years of demonstrated experience post-full licensure including work experience in child development, culturally competent and trauma-centered care
- 2 or more years of demonstrated experience post-full licensure performing evaluations in direct engagement with children and their families
- Experience in a clinical or immigration setting strongly preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team-based environment
- Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
- Available to travel, as required
- Ability to handle crisis intervention, conflict, confrontation, or other complex people situations with compassion and decisiveness
- Experience with immigrants and connecting them with services & resources
- Must possess strong computer skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel, MS Teams, and ability to type 45 wpm
- Demonstrated ability to support a diverse group of clients, including refugees or other immigrant families
- Aptitude to work cross-functionally with TPG personnel and social services agencies to deliver the highest quality of work under extreme pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Proven experience and high level of comfortability operating technology and learning new software applications quickly to complete required data entry tasks
- Ability to work independently in the field and exercise a high level of confidentiality
- Knowledge of state, community, and agency resources for victims of abuse preferred
Requirements :
- Due to the importance of this position, employees supporting this contract may be required to work extended hours including evening work, support on-call assignments, and work weekends to support time-sensitive or real-time complex services.
- This position is considered ESSENTIAL Field Child Well-Being Professionals are required to report and work during emergencies or crises, including inclement weather, natural and man-made disasters, etc.
Security Clearance / Background Check Requirements
- Applicants selected will be subject to a government background investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Must be a U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Residency requirement - 3 consecutive years in the last 5 years.
