We are in search of a Payroll Specialist to join our team based in Stratford, Connecticut. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining accurate payroll records, handling payroll related inquiries, and performing ad hoc accounting tasks.
This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity in the Financial Services industry.
Responsibilities :
- Process payroll for 75 employees, including salary, hourly, commissions, and overtime calculations.
- Utilize Accounting Software Systems and ADP - Financial Services for efficient payroll processing.
- Ensure accurate data entry and payroll entries in the system.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the highest standards of privacy.
- Handle payroll taxes and end-of-year tax preparations.
- Verify information for accuracy and make necessary adjustments.
- Audit payroll records and rectify any discrepancies.
- Manage bookkeeping tasks as needed.
- Provide support for ad hoc accounting tasks.
- Liaise with outsourced HR for data requirements and updates.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems.
- Experience with ADP - Financial Services and ADP - Payroll.
- Ability to perform Accounting Functions and Auditing.
- Knowledge of Benefit Functions, Bonus Commission, and Commissions.
- Familiarity with Overtime, Form 1099, and Payroll Taxes.
- Excellent data entry and bookkeeping skills.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
