Job Title : Training and Safety Coordinator

Reports To : Production Manager

FLSA Status : Exempt

Salary Wage Range : $45,000 - $85,000

Summary Plans, directs, and implements Champion's safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through supervisors.

Responsible for the deployment of the plant safety training program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Develops and implements the plant's onboarding process. Maintains and analyzes data on employee turnover.
  • Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and the identification of and correct handling techniques for hazardous materials.
  • Prepares studies and analyses of industrial accidents and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
  • Inspects plant and office facilities to detect accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
  • Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
  • Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Prepares and arranges safety exhibits and materials for display, promotional work, industry conferences, and exhibitions.
  • Represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.
  • Maintains safety files and records, both written and electronic.

Qualifications

  • Leadership experience in a safety, training or operations role is preferred
  • Experience in formal incident investigation and OSHA regulations
  • Exceptional communication skills, such as the ability to effectively communicate information to the team
  • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills
  • Previous experience in teaching or training (preferably manufacturing) preferred
  • Proficient skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Great organizational skills
  • Excellent team player attitude
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily activities
  • Understanding of Standard Operating Procedures
  • Strong knowledge of HUD and modular building codes.
  • Thorough understanding of HUD and modular home production methods.

Education and / or Experience

Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; four to five years related experience and / or training in the manufacturing environment;

or equivalent combination of education and experience.
