Positionscope
Under the business supervision ofthe Vice President of Finance & Business Solutions andwithin the limits of ACCOR policies and procedures HOA (Home OwnersAssociation) governing documents and local requirements theposition is responsible for the oversight of all finance / accountingmatters and supervision of the Finance and Business Support team atFairmont Heritage Place (FHP).
The Director ofFinance & Business Support will provide strategicleadership functional guidance and valuable insights at FairmontHeritage Place Ghirardelli Square.
The candidate will be a highlymotivated team player with strong skillsets in finance accountingcommunication business presentation analysis and fluent knowledgeof HOA governing documents andoperations.
Core Duties andResponsibilities
BusinessPartnering and PerformanceManagement
- Creation andembracing the culture of business partnering by working with theGeneral Manager at FHP Ghirardelli Square. The Director of Finance& Business Support and the General Manager are jointlyresponsible for achieving optimal operating performance and returnsfor ACCOR and our owners without losing sight of all measuredKPIs
- Lead and supervise the finance team toensure the books and records are in compliance with GAAP Accorlocal state and federal laws
- Partner andcollaborate with finance and leadership team to provide strategicleadership and functional guidance for the residentialproperty
- Develop the business and financialacumen of the finance and leadership team to ensure they understandthe impact of every component on the business in order to driveperformance and compliance in areas ofresponsibility
- Develop and manage relationshipand communication with HOA board members and HOA Finance Committeeand fulfill HOA governancerequirements
FinancialPlanning Reporting andAnalysis
- Provide accurateand complete financial and management reports on a timely basis tohotel management corporate office and HOA in accordance with thecompany (ACCOR) and ownership (HOA) reporting requirements andpolicy
- Review financial performance ofdepartment / area analysis of variances forecasts and budgets and / orrecommend alternate strategies to continually improve effectivenessof the business or financial management within the boundaries ofgoverning company (ACCOR) and ownership (HOA)documents
- Manage the financial affairs of theHOA in compliance with governing documents and managementagreements
- Manage the financial auditpreparation and coordinate the auditprocess
- Manage the Capital Reserve Plan andCapital Fund aligned with ACCOR standards. Ensure all hotelsestablish and maintain the tracking of fixed assets subledgers anddepreciation
- Audit FHP Benefit programs toensure proper capture of revenue and compliance withstandards
- Collaborate with real estatecommunity to maximize unit and / or fractional sales and ownervalues
- In addition to the preparation of allfinancial statements accounting and statistical reports and anyother special report that may be required by VP of Finance or theGeneral Manager the Director of Finance & Business Supportis responsible for interpreting said reports and then communicatingthe results with the VP of Finance General Manager and relevantdepartment heads
Compliance& RiskManagement
- Has a fiduciaryresponsibility to ACCOR and the HOA for ensuring the hotel isreporting in compliance with the policies the Uniform Chart ofAccounts HOA documents and hotel management or other contractualarrangements with respect to accountingmatters
- All laws and fiscal regulations of thearea location which effect financial matters of the hotel will becomplied with. This includes seeing that proper permits andlicenses are obtained for such things as liquor licenses sellerspermit business licenses etc.
- To protect theowners and the management companys interest in the hotel assets andoperations.
- The safekeeping of all lease andcontracts and any other legal records and documents which mayaffect the financial status of the hotel.
Such documents are to belisted and keep current on the Critical DateList

Compensation :
SalaryRange $130k$150k
Qualifications :
- AccountingDesignation Bachelors or masters degree in Business Finance or arelevant field of work or an equivalent combination of educationand workrelated experience. CPA or MBApreferred
- 35 years progressive workrelatedexperience in multiple areas of accounting (including propertymanagement hotel or homeowners association accounting) and / orcapital projects management and reporting financial and / or businessanalysis accounting merger / acquisition analysis or a related areawith 35 years managing teams and / or significant complexprojects.
- Demonstrated experience in leading& developing people. Strong communication skills bothverbal and written to address all levels within the organizationand ability to gain consensus and influenceothers.
- Demonstrated experience with accountingsystem or similar financial software for the purpose of financialreporting analysis andpresentation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financebudgeting and accounting processes and regulations along withdemonstrated knowledge of capital projects management standards andtechniques and GAAP regulations andprocedures.
- Fluent in Microsoft Windowapplications and relevant computerapplications
- Highly responsible &reliable with exceptional attention todetail
- Ability to work cohesively as part of ateam
- Ability to focus attention on guest needsremaining calm and courteous at alltimes
