Training and Development Specialist

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our unique and fun work environment, responsible for developing, administering, and executing our comprehensive training curriculum across all departments.
As a Training and Development Specialist, you’ll design, implement, organize, coordinate, and manage engaging corporate training programs for company-wide, departmental, call center, technical, sales, and management personnel.
You’ll collaborate closely with management to refine existing methods and introduce innovative new procedures for training.
Whether in the classroom, E-learning or online, you’ll design and deliver impactful training sessions that drive our team’s success.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities :
- Training Development : Analize, design, develop and deliver training modules and programs.
- E-Learning Expertise : Utilize your e-learning prowess, particularly with Articulate and Rise, to craft engaging digital content for online training modules to be used in our online Wine Country University.
- Leadership Training : Develop and deliver leadership training for high-level managers, supervisors, and front-line staff across different departments, including call center and warehouse teams.
- Project Management : Manage training projects effectively, adapting strategies to the changing needs of our seasonal business.
- Seasonal Staff Training : Oversee and train seasonal staff, both in-house and in collaboration with our BPO outsource centers, during our busy holiday season in the 4th quarter.
- Collaborative Role : Work alongside other trainers in the Training Department, reporting to the Director of Call Center and Training.
- Authors, implements, and organizes training management procedures and supporting documentation for training programs in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Train seasonal employees in the areas of Order Processing, Call Center, Chat / Email and Corporate Sales.
- Collaborates with managers to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies and procedures requiring training.
- Interviews subject matter experts and conducts necessary research to develop instructional content.
- Formulates training outline and determines instructional methods applying tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods.
- Stays up to date on new instructional methods and design theories to remain a subject-matter expert.
- A creative thinker who can creates engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer of information to employees.
- Make decisions to keep or let-go individuals during training if not meeting minimum standard requirements
- Give progress checks to trainee’s so they understand where they are not meeting minimum standards
- Organizes and reports data on completed courses, absences, issues, etc.
- Organizes and maintains trainee personnel records.
- Collects, documents, and maintains pertinent training metrics and materials.
- Continually evaluates training progress and procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness
- and updates curriculum as needed.
- Observes all health / safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
- Employee may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Excellent organization skills; ability to design presentations utilizing creative methods and tools to meet training content and development requirements.
- Intermediate to advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to train it.
- Working knowledge of E-learning software to create e-learning courses. Articulate, Rise and Storyline.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate key messages needed for effective training.
- Previous design, development, and delivery of leadership training.
- Big picture thinker willing to take risks and challenge the status quo.
- Excellent project management skills to enable on-time delivery of quality results.
- Excellent classroom management capabilities.
- Works independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to multi-task, with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
