As a Sommelier at The Beverly Hills Hotel, your compensation will range between $67,000-$71,000 annually, not inclusive of a discretionary incentive based on job performance.
What you'll do
As the Sommelier at The Beverly Hills Hotel, you will thrive in a role that allows you to delight our guests and take immense pride in your work.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include :
- Work as a sommelier in multiple outlets including Banquets
- Recommend food and wine pairings based on guests' personal tastes and food choices.
- Educate guests about different wine varieties, vintages, styles, and price points.
- Ensure wines are served at the appropriate temperature and in the proper glassware.
- Promote wine sales and engage with hotel guests to create a curated dining experience.
- Maintain wine storerooms, ensuring correct temperature, cleanliness, and organization.
- Collaborate with Restaurant Managers and F&B Director to create and update wine lists.
- Manage the wine inventory and ensure adequate stock levels.
- Edit and print beverage menus and wine lists.
- Train team members on wine related topics
- Assist in day-to-day operations; provide floor coverage and supervision of guest experience and team
- Ensure adherence to established wine procedures and standards.
- Develop and implement training itineraries and procedures.
- Incorporate guest feedback into menu engineering process.
- Assist in event planning, execution, and post-event evaluation.
- Foster a 'We Care' culture while upholding hotel standards.
- Build and cultivate strong positive working relationships.
- Demonstrate self-motivation, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Manage time effectively and meet deadlines.

What you'll bring
- Certified Sommelier (by the Court of Master Sommeliers) or equivalent certification showcasing expertise and deep understanding of wine.
- Minimum of 3 years of sommelier experience, preferably in fine dining and / or hotel environments.
- Extensive knowledge of wines, including varieties, vintages, styles, and regions.
- Strong understanding of food and wine pairing principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Open flexibility in work schedule, including availability for weekend and evening shifts.
- Outstanding guest service and hospitality skills with a professional and polished presentation.
- Strong people-oriented leadership skills and excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive sales and profits and implement successful strategies for revenue growth.
