Introduction
The League of California Community Foundations (LCCF) is a statewide coalition of 30+ place-based community foundations collectively serving over 99% of the communities where Californians live.
The Growing Community Foundation Circle (GCFC) is a new program of LCCF launched in 2022 to foster networking, training, capacity building, and shared learning for small and emerging community foundations in California.
LCCF is seeking a qualified Group Learning Facilitator to support a small group of 5-10 GCFC participant foundations by developing, facilitating, and evaluating group learning experiences that foster knowledge sharing, collaboration, and professional development.
Scope of Work
The selected consultant will be responsible for :
Needs Assessment :
- Conducting a needs assessment to identify key learning areas for GCFC members.
- Analyzing the assessment results to inform the design of group learning sessions.
Program Design :
- Developing a comprehensive GCFC group learning program tailored to the identified needs.
- Creating engaging and interactive session plans, including agendas, materials, occasional guest speakers, and activities.
- Designing an online hub within LCCF’s website to build an evolving library of tools, resources, recordings and learnings for current and future participants in the GCFC.
Facilitation :
- Facilitating virtual GCFC group learning sessions on at least a quarterly basis, ensuring active participation and engagement.
- Utilizing various facilitation techniques to accommodate different learning styles and preferences.
Evaluation and Reporting :
- Developing evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness of the learning sessions.
- Collecting and analyzing feedback from GCFC participants to inform continuous improvement.
- Preparing a final report summarizing the outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations for future learning initiatives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have :
- Proven experience in group facilitation, particularly within the nonprofit or philanthropic sector. Direct experience with community foundations is preferred.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and best practices in group learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- High level of skill with virtual facilitation tools and platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proposal Requirements
Proposals should include the following :
- Cover Letter : A brief introduction and summary of the consultant’s qualifications and experience.
- Approach and Methodology : A detailed description of the proposed approach to meeting the Scope of Work, including methods for needs assessment, program design, facilitation, and evaluation.
- Work Plan and Timeline : A proposed work plan with key milestones and deliverables, including a timeline for completion.
- Budget : A detailed budget outlining the consultant’s fees and any anticipated expenses.
- References : Contact information for at least three references who can speak to the consultant’s relevant experience and qualifications.

Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria :
- Relevant experience and qualifications.
- Quality and feasibility of the proposed approach and methodology.
- Alignment with the goals and objectives of the GCFC.
- Cost-effectiveness of the proposed budget.
- Feedback from references.
