Job Summary
The Chief Operating & Programs Officer (CPOO) reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and serves as a strategic partner to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team, as well as other key stakeholders across the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Georgia (BGCCG) community.
The CPOO is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and oversight of all programmatic and operational activities, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and goals.
This role leads the Program, Operations, Compliance departments, coaching and managing teams to deliver high-quality services to youth, families, and volunteers.
The CPOO will build and maintain key partnerships with schools, nonprofits, public officials, and community groups to foster solutions that benefit youth and families while enhancing BGCCG's visibility.
They will also develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs), ensure program compliance, and identify growth opportunities through data-driven analysis.
This position plays a crucial role in securing sustainable growth and ensuring BGCCG's continued impact across Central Georgia.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the chief strategist, setting goals and strategies for all programmatic and operational activities.
- Manage staff, board, and stakeholder efforts to meet annual program and operational goals.
- Collaborate with program and operations leadership to develop and coach leaders across departments.
- Support leaders in fostering staff development, ensuring exceptional service to volunteers, youth, and families.
- Ensure safety, procedural efficiency, and alignment with the organization's mission and values.
- Partner with the CEO to engage with schools, agencies, public officials, and community nonprofits to promote BGCCG and provide impactful solutions for youth and families.
- Develop and implement strategic priorities for programs and operations.
- Track annual program KPIs, analyze data to identify growth opportunities, and establish accountability metrics.
- Manage program compliance, ensuring alignment with standards and regulations.
- Lead efforts in hiring, retaining, and developing program and operations staff.
- Partner with the SLT in managing external partnerships and collaborate with the development team to secure and sustain funding.
Qualifications & Required Skills
- BA required. MA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience overall, with a minimum of six (6) years of senior leadership experience supervising seasoned staff operating multiple sites and programs across a broad geography.
- Management and supervisory experience in a non-profit environment, ideally in a youth-serving / human service environment preferred.
- High degree of experience with human resource management.
- Ability to work with many diverse constituencies.
- The successful candidate will display a record of leadership and accomplishment with a proven track record with customer service deliverables.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills with a strong customer / client focus are essential, along with the ability to engage effectively with staff, sophisticated volunteers, and donors.
- Attentive and active listening skills, organization, flexible thinking, and ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate ability to manage financial and analytical data and reporting.
- Demonstrate program management, leadership, and stakeholder management competency.
- Demonstrate competency in strategy, execution of plans, and goal attainment.
- Extensive knowledge of community partners to ensure quality programs and services.
- Commitment to innovation and process improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM packages required (Daxko CRM experience preferred).
- Must live within the geographical service area of Bibb, Monroe, Jones, Peach, or Houston Counties.
- Extensive knowledge of recruitment strategies to drive youth enrollment.
- Extensive knowledge of the program and education community and funding opportunities.
