General Description
The Wellness Center Attendant oversees activities occurring in the Wellness Center, which includes the gymnasium, weight room, cardiovascular room, aerobics room, pickleball courts, locker rooms and associated hallways.
The Wellness Center Attendant is responsible for ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and effective and safe functioning of the Wellness Center.

Ability and willingness to work flexible hours. Physical Demands / Working Conditions 1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Medium work : This position requires the person to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force and frequently exert up to 20 pounds of force and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES :
This position requires the person to frequently move about the Recreation and Fitness department facilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with students, faculty, staff, and others to perform the essential functions of the position.
Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.
This position requires the person to frequently operate a computer, other office machinery, and other machinery / devices associated with the Recreation and Fitness department to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to operate equipment that frequently involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists.
This position requires the person to occasionally position self to access materials that may be above head or at ground level.
This position requires the person to frequently position self to move, lift, push, pull, work on, or operate and / or inspect equipment.
3. VISUAL ACUITY :
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
This position’s essential functions are performed in an indoor recreation and fitness facility. Preferred Qualifications Background in Wellness, Physical Education or Recreation

Provide information to students, staff, visiting customers and members regarding programming, events, and use of the center.
Greet and address students / employees / members / guests in a courteous and respectful manner.
Supervise and provide assistance for members while using the facility.
Perform basic level cleaning and preventive maintenance on Wellness Center equipment including fitness and cardiovascular machines as well as laundry maintenance.
Enforce Wellness Center policies and procedures including safety, risk management, inventory and equipment usage.
The Wellness Center Attendant will make daily inspections of all areas of concern, and will promptly notify appropriate personnel of equipment or facility repair needs.
Maintain basic lost and found control procedures.
Assist with documentation of incidents and accidents which occur in any part of the wellness center areas. Job Duties (Safety / Policy & Procedures) Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures
Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.
Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation and shelter in place drills and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
This position has been identified as having significant responsibility for student and campus activities. The individual holding this position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
CSAs are required to report crimes they become aware of to the Reporting Structure at Oklahoma City Community College. Annual CSA training is required for individuals holding this position.
