Overall Function / Job Summary :
The Documentation Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining technical and business documentation, training, and communication materials for internal and external use.
Duties and Responsibilities :
o Develop and write technical information online or in print.
o Produce a significant portion of complex documentation that complies with plan requirements.
o Develop complex user scenarios that demonstrate the use of product.
o Conduct careful analysis to design and write the documentation associated with the project.
o Document photos and layouts of the job site for customers' approval.
o Communicate with project managers, engineers, site personnel, customers on related projects.
o Support development of standardized documents and templates.
o Create plans to ensure system compliance, including writing and editing of documentation.
o Strict attention to detail; adherence to rigid guidelines and processes; ability to validate, update and maintain accurate records.
o Maintain (check-in, check-out) the project library hard copy and electronic copy.
o Ensure Master Documents Lists for all libraries are maintained and current.
o Maintain knowledge of AutoCAD; ability to read and edit drawings; create plot files for client end documentation.
o Maintain knowledge of Photoshop to update / maintain network design / cabling documentation.
o Manage data on server; accurately compile files to designated location.
o Complete final documentation binders in bulk for customers; include the process of printing docs, insertion of documents and labeling tabs.
Requirements and Qualifications :
o Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
o Work-related experience is preferred; however, new graduates are welcome to apply
o Demonstrate knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Office, and Photoshop; or must have the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of the software.
o Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Excellent time management and organization skills.
o Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to adjust to changing priorities.
o Capable of working independently with limited supervision.
o High level of attention to detail.
o Ability to operate a variety of high-speed digital printing production and office equipment.
Physical Requirements :
o Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
o Sitting, standing, & some walking.
o Able to sit for long periods of time.
o Able to work on a computer for up to 8 hours a day.
Travel :
As required, where you will be required to represent WGC. This is still subject to change at executive management discretion as needed of this position.
Reporting Structure :
Documentation Specialist will report directly to the Documentation Supervisor.
Additional Notes :
o All Waveguide employees are required to maintain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) card at their own expense.
This is not required prior to employment.)
