Minimum Qualifications :
Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education / experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications :
- A Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, Operations Management, or a related field, or at least three years of experience in business analysis or project management.
- Experience working with analytic tools, such as Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI.
- Exposure to relational databases and SQL.
- Experience working with higher education, constituent relationship management and / or a fundraising system experience.
Position Summary :
The Business Systems Analyst is a key role within the Division of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR), reporting to the Senior Director of Business Intelligence and Analytics.
This position collaborates with management, stakeholders, and team leads to provide valuable recommendations and assist in the implementation of technical solutions, quality control projects, and business process improvements.
The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for delivering solutions using click to configure processes, analytic and visualization tools, and supporting various data enhancement, clean-up, and import processes.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and / or Competencies :
- Understanding of business analysis principles, processes, and techniques.
- Ability to develop and prepare use cases, functional specifications, and technical requirements.
- Ability to understand and represent the needs of the end user in a software development environment.
- Ability to analyze datasets to identify anomalies, patterns, errors, and potential areas for improvement
- Ability to analyze, identify critical elements and alternatives, and organize existing resources and new information to implement the most appropriate solutions
- Ability to translate business objectives into IT / business systems solutions
- Ability to interact effectively verbally and in writing with both technical and non-technical audiences

Duties / Responsibilities :
- Gather and document clear, detailed, and concise requirements, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders for review and clarification.
- Develop functional specification documents to foster understanding and gain buy-in from clients, project teams, technical staff, and other relevant parties.
- Conduct thorough investigations and propose recommended solutions, encompassing detailed business user requirements, prototypes, workflow procedures, and business rules.
- Lead and participate in design specification reviews with development team members, proactively identifying design issues and assisting in the creation of test plans.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of supported software systems to facilitate the analysis of potential problem areas.
- Provide assistance to others in meeting aggressive deadlines.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to evaluate and propose enhancements to internal processes.
