Quality Inspector - 3rd Shift
Summary :
The Quality Inspector should be familiar with quality requirements at all stages of the manufacturing process. Has advanced knowledge of parts and processes as demonstrated by experience in various departments or through extended time in the role of quality inspector.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, but not limited to :
Inspect product using gauges, calipers, tape measures, other measuring tools, and visual inspection methods. Includes coordinating with other team members and departments to ship promised product on current day's schedule.
Must be flexible with schedule.
- Must be capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Capture and document any required quality data and enter data per applicable Basic Cause Code in Epicor.
- Perform all essential functions / duties within quality requirements utilizing five second checks, checklists, top department defects, check templates, etc.
Be responsible and accept total quality ownership of all work.
- Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
- Report defective materials or questionable quality conditions to the department SME. Complete any required paperwork based on the findings.

- Must be able to follow directions and work in a fast paced, team environment.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Must be able to interact and communicate at all levels of the organization. Must be willing to confront issues with products, processes, and behaviors to ensure processes are followed and company and customer expectations are met or exceeded.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience :
- High school diploma or GED preferred or related quality experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Quality Assurance
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Following established SOP's and Work Instructions.
- Must be able to interpret company paperwork, part numbers, labels and packing lists. Use of production / operational software required.
- Ability to complete required training courses.
Physical Demands :
- Must be able to frequently lift or move materials weighing up to 50lbs.
- Regularly required to stand, bend, stoop and reach for 8-10 hours.
- Must be able to wear required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toed shoes). Gloves may be required during certain tasks.
Work Environment :
- Work performed in an air-conditioned shop environment.
- May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another, during the production process.
