The Machine Operator operates a machine that controls APV, Vemag to extrude / portion cookies, scones or biscotti and ilapmac machine that wraps cookies in a safe, sanitary, cost-effective and efficient manner that meets company food safety and quality standards.
Duties of the Machine Operators :
- Inspect equipment of mechanical safety issues or concerns.
- Inspection includes belts, motors, rollers, guillotines, hoppers, heaters, shuttle conveyors, cutter & Auger before startup of production, throughout the shift and end of last product run.
- Alert Line Lead if machines are not functioning correctly or safely
- Read production supervisor schedule and set up machine based on 1st product on schedule for the day.
- Report any allergen sequence isn’t accurate.
- Follow product specification sheet to set up equipment and set number of cookies per layer, product dimensions and weight
- Accurately records and communicates line downtime to line leads and superiors
- Comply with GMP and safety and food safety standards at all times
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1 + years machine operator experience required
- Basic computer skills including Excel and Word
- Self Motivated and ability to take initiative and use sound judgement in day to day decision making
- Excellent English communication skills required, bilingual speaker a plus
