Position Summary

POSTING FOR UNMC EMPLOYEES ONLY

The following accountabilities have been established for this senior leadership position, under the scope of work associated with CityMatCH, a freestanding national organization at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, which serves by agreement as its fiscal agent.

This position is needed to provide senior direction on the development of new funding sources grant applications) and to oversee continuous quality improvement of all activities within the Section / CityMatCH.

Additionally, this position will supervise CityMatCH’s new graduate assistant program (four positions total) and the recently created position of membership coordinator.

This position is needed in light of recent expansion within CityMatCH and will be carried out in conjunction with the Executive Director and other Senior Staff Team members to provide overall leadership for the Section / CityMatCH and represent CityMatCH and UNMC on a national level.

NOTE : Concentration and minors are not equivalent to a major) Public Health, Public Administration or related field Required Experience 3 years If any experience is required, please specify what kind of experience : Experience in grant writing, and CQI development.

Valid Driver’s license Required Computer Applications : Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook Required Other Computer Applications : Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : As this position represents CityMatCH leadership some out-state travel is required which may include four nights per year with some weekend travel.

Variable working hours may be beyond the normal hours of 8 : 00am to 4 : 30pm.

Knowledge of principles and methods of public health practice, particularly relating to MCH.

Knowledge about programs and project administration, including organizational methods, personnel and budgeting. Knowledge of trends in the delivery of public health / MCH services.

Knowledge of other health and human services systems. Knowledge about state and national organizations and the national health policy field.

Knowledge of urban health status and human services systems.

Ability to develop and sustain cooperative relationships with department and university staff, representatives of national organizations, and funding sources.

Ability to make independent decisions effecting the organization.

Skills in verbal and written communication to scientific, policy making, technical, and lay audiences.

Skills in organizing and managing complex tasks; demonstrated cross-cultural skills to assure cultural competency in services and products.
