Your impact

This role is for the Developer Experience team that manages a variety of foundational systems like CI / CD, development environments, and staging / demo environments.

It is a high-impact and high-visibility role which will have a direct impact on Handshake’s shipping velocity.

Your role

  • Lead a team of 5-8 engineers
  • Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development
  • Set the vision and lead initiatives to improve the development workflow of code, build, test and deploy to increase engineering velocity
  • Be a hands-on technical leader and participate in designing and implementing new systems and tools
  • Effectively set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders
  • Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with the company's values

Your Experience

  • You bring 5+ years of experience working in the Developer Productivity domain
  • You have 2+ years of hands-on management experience
  • Experience building maintainable, scalable CI / CD solutions
  • Drive a high level of developer satisfaction
  • You have experience in leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring software developers
  • You are focused on success and the delivery of timely, high-quality software
  • You have solid experience working in an agile development environment
  • You have strong written and verbal technical communication skills

Compensation Range

$205,000-$225,000 (SF Bay Area)

  • 401k Match : Handshake offers a dollar-for-dollar match on 1% of deferred salary, up to a maximum of $1,200 per year.

Lastly, we have a Winter #ShakeBreak, a one-week period of Collective Time Off.

Pension Scheme : Handshake will provide you with a workplace pension, where you will make contributions based on 5% of your salary.

Handshake will pay the equivalent of 3% towards your pension plan, subject to qualifying earnings limits.
