Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and possession of a valid driver's license and maintenance of a driving record sufficient to maintain insurance coverage under the University of South Alabama.
Will be required to reside in the Great New Orleans / Northshore / Southeastern Louisiana area. An equivalent combination of education or experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in enrollment services or in a higher education setting is preferred.

The University of South Alabama's department of New Student Recruitment is seeking to hire a Regional Admissions Counselor for New Orleans, Louisiana and surrounding area.

Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- The Regional Admissions Officer will be based in New Orleans, Louisiana or surrounding area.
- Working at a high level of autonomy, travels extensively to high schools and colleges in Louisiana and Texas areas to recruit prospective students.
- Make presentations to various sized audiences.
- Mails out notices to students on a regular basis.
- Prepares a systematic travel schedule based on marketing surveys and statistics.
- Manages assigned territories to include preparing reports and maintaining and analyzing statistics.
- Coordinates volunteer recruitment programs to include alumni and parents.
- Attends various meetings, events, college fairs and other functions which may require overnight and weekend stays.
- Collects, reviews, and analyzes admissions documentation for prospective student seeking admission, transfer or readmission to the University of South Alabama (USA).
- Meets strategic enrollment goals as established by the Office of Enrollment Services and communicates regularly with the Office of New Student Recruitment.
- Works with the USA Banner system and CRM program (State).
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date reporting to reflect outcomes of recruitment efforts.
- Collaborates with university professionals and disseminates the University message to prospective students and families.
- Periodically travels to the USA main campus for meetings and training.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with high school and community college counselors.
- Accesses student files and determines status information.
- Communicates University admission requirements and policies by phone, letter or in-person.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable University, state and federal regulations.
- Moves boxes and cases weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
- Related duties as required.
