The Opportunity
We are seeking an innovative and visionary Executive Director to lead The Academy at Penn a collaborative, effort among Foundations, Inc.
Foundations), the University of Pennsylvania (Penn GSE), and The School District of Philadelphia a five-year cohort-based college and career connected learning model designed to support students in Philadelphia as they pursue their higher education and career goals.
The Executive Director will spearhead the development and implementation of a unique collaborative partnership that when successful will ensure that high school students are able to attend colleges of their choice, and secure jobs that match their passions, knowledge, and skills.
The Executive Director will work directly with students, families, schools, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
Under the guidance of the Chief Education and Innovation Officer, the Executive Director will provide strategic and effective leadership for all aspects of The Academy at Penn.
The ideal candidate must be hands-on while also possessing the ability and experience to navigate large and complex systems and organizations.
The position requires a commitment to the development of transparent and inclusive decision-making processes to ensure the seamless integration of academic and social, emotional support for students in school, afterschool, and on Penn's campus during the summer.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in education and k-12 principal certification.
- Experience as a school principal and / or assistant superintendent.
- High school leadership experience preferred.
- Proven experience in educational program development and implementation within urban school districts.
- Strong leadership and team facilitation skills with a track record of building and maintaining successful partnerships.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and a passion for empowering students, families, and communities.
