The goal of our co-op program is to develop future engineering resources for our organization, and help you expand your technical and professional skills in a real-world setting.
We structure the co-op assignments so that, with each new term, the candidates develop the ability to accept an increasing level of complexity and self-reliance.
Projects impactful and meaningful to our organization. You’ll be supported by your Manager and Mentor to gain in-depth knowledge of the adhesive industry and collaborate with various departments and functions.

Co-op Location : South Bend, IN
Housing will be provided within a drivable distance from the facility*
Our Co-op Experience includes :
2-3 terms alternatingbetween full time studies and full time work. Your rotation will begin the Spring or Summer semester of 2025.
Interactive orientation and events with skilled professionals in your field, including engineers, managers, and directors.
Multiple networking, volunteer and fun events both virtual and in-person.
Impactful projects that make a difference internally and externally for H.B. Fuller.
End of semester final presentation to showcase your career development with support from managers and peers.
Primary Responsibilities :
Work with experienced Engineers to develop and improve manufacturing processes.
Lead process improvement activities related to productivity efficiencies, reducing waste, improving quality and safety improvement.
Creating and modifying manufacturing standard work instructions.
Support Engineering trials and assist in new equipment startup.
Provide training to operators as required
Assist in capital and facility planning activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide time studies, value stream mapping, current state vs. future state assessments, structured problem solving and other CI related actions.
Identify root cause(s) to alerted deficiencies and implement positive corrective action(s).
Work with Manufacturing, Quality, Scheduling and Maintenance functions to create robust solutions to existing inefficiencies.
Minimum Requirements :
Minimum rising Freshman, or Sophomore in : Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
Physical Environment :
Chemical processing and packaging including solvent based adhesives
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
The salary for this role is $21-$24 per hour based on Major.
