Responsibilities :
- Providesign language interpretation services during virtual classroom sessions, meetings, and other school-related activities.
- Facilitate effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and school staff.
- Collaborate closely with educators and support staff to ensure that the needs of students with hearing impairments are met.
- Adhere to professional standards and ethics in sign language interpretation, maintaining confidentiality and neutrality at all times.
- Stay updated on relevant educational materials and resources to enhance interpretation services and support student learning.
Qualifications :
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- EIPA Score of at least 3.5
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working as a sign language interpreter in a school-based or educational setting preferred.
- Comfortable using technology for remote interpretation, including video conferencing platforms and other digital tools.
