Responsibilities :
Assist community residents in completing eligibility and application packets for healthcare insurance enrollment or renewal
Instruct clients on the documents necessary for the eligibility process, and provide an overview of available healthcare insurance options
Act as a liaison between the patient, healthcare insurance group, and VCC for enrollment information, and for maintenance of healthcare insurance
Qualifications : Minimum
Minimum
High school graduate or equivalent
Bilingual English / Spanish
Willingness and ability to complete certification as a Covered California Certified Enrollment Counselor (CEC)
Minimum two years' of experience in the customer service or social service fields, or in community volunteer work
Valid California driver’s license, current vehicle insurance and reliable transportation
Preferred
Covered California Certified Enrollment Counselor (CEC)
Required Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Knowledge of community health centers, public assistance programs, state and federal regulations and managed care systems
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Basic computer knowledge, internet use and MS Office
Pay Range
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour
