Our well-established group practice of four experienced neurosurgeons is seeking a talented and motivated fifth neurosurgeon to join our team in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
We are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and advancing the field of neurosurgery. As the newest member of our team, you will play a crucial role in further elevating our practice's reputation and expertise.
Qualifications :
- Fellowship in Spinal Surgery : The ideal candidate must have completed a fellowship in spinal surgery, demonstrating specialized training and expertise in this area.
- Independent Work Experience : Candidates must have a minimum of two years of independent work experience, either as a full-time consultant or as a locum excluding fellowship training years.
This experience should showcase your ability to handle diverse cases and demonstrate your proficiency in neurosurgical techniques geared towards a comprehensive community practice of cranial and spinal neurosurgery.
Applicants must hold an MD or equivalent and have completed residency training in Neurosurgery (with preference given to Canadian trainees).
Candidates must hold, or eligibility for, certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and be able to obtain an Ontario independent license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
Responsibilities :
Neurosurgical Expertise : As a fifth neurosurgeon in our practice, you will be expected to provide excellent neurosurgical care to our patients.
Your focus on spinal surgery will complement our existing capabilities and contribute to our comprehensive services.
Neuro-Endoscopy and Awake Craniotomies : Proficiency in neuro-endoscopy and awake craniotomies is essential, as these specialized techniques are a crucial part of our practice's offerings.
Pain Procedures : While not a mandatory requirement, we encourage candidates with an interest in conducting pain procedures in the future.
This will expand our practice's scope to address a broader range of neurological conditions.
Collaborative Approach : As a team player, you will work collaboratively with our current neurosurgeons and other medical professionals to ensure seamless patient care and foster a collegial work environment.
Academic Duties : Candidates applying for this position are expected to actively participate in the education and mentorship of neurosurgical fellows in various settings, including the operative room, the ward, and the clinics.
Additionally, they will be involved in providing guidance and instruction to neurosurgery residents who rotate through the Windsor service from other esteemed neurosurgical centers.
Furthermore, a strong commitment to medical students' education is required, encompassing small group teaching, anatomy cadaver labs, and clinical skills instruction.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment for trainees at all levels, contributing to the advancement of neurosurgical knowledge and skills within our institution.
