The Registered Nurse (RN) prepares equipment and assists physician during examinations and treatments. The Registered Nurse (RN) administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patient vital signs.
The Registered Nurse (RN) observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress. The Registered Nurse (RN) participates as primary nurse, associate nurse, a team member or team leader in the planning and implementing of patient care.
The Registered Nurse (RN) directs and assists in carrying out safe aseptic technique and procedures. The Registered Nurse (RN) offers leadership and direction to all support staff within department.
The medical-surgical unit at Shoreline Hospital provides exceptional care for Ortho, Oncology, and Med / Surg patients. Our RNs care for patients with elective surgeries, fractures from the ER, and medical overflow.
Our Inpatient Oncology department is the only acute inpatient unit in the region. We take care of patients who come in who may have a new or existing cancer diagnosis.
We treat them with chemotherapy / hematology interventions when indicated or may be treating them for symptoms related to recently having chemotherapy.
We also care for patients who may have a secondary diagnosis related to having cancer. Our wonderful team is passionate about taking care of our oncology population.

Able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.Two-years of Oncology nursing experience preferred.Current Texas State RN License CPR (American Heart Association)Oncology Clinical Nurse Certification (ONC™) (Chemo) or Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) preferred.
