Job Description

Position Title : Mechanical Assembly Technician

Reports To : Production and Planning Manager

Main Position Objectives :

• Assemble the Maag family of equipment, including dryers of all sizes and TWS systems, with an emphasis on hitting customer delivery dates.
• Assemble dryer rotors and housings.
• Balance rotors on all size dryers.
• Build and mount dryer component parts such as agglomerate catchers and pellet diverter valves.
• Perform leak tests on dryer and tank housings.
• Engrave equipment name plates.
• Fill out check sheets while assembling the equipment.
• Put together piping assemblies.
• Other tasks as assigned by the manager.

The incumbent considers all interests of quality, accident prevention, and occupational safety as well as environmental safety in a preventive manner within his scope of responsibility and supports the avoidance of damages to people, facilities, assets, material, and the environment actively.

This position may require overtime and weekend work as needed.

Work in this position is mainly at the Eagle Rock assembly floor, but the incumbent could be asked to assemble at the Roanoke facility when needed.

While performing the duties of this job in a factory setting, the employee may be moving mechanical parts and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud, and PPE may be required.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to talk or hear.
• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
• The employee must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Forklift training is required, and the employee will regularly use lifts and ladders to assemble on structures off of the ground five feet or higher.

Job SpecificationEducation

Mandatory :

• High School diploma or equivalent education (additional technical skills a plus).
• Mechanical background and a general understanding of tools.
