Job Description

Overview :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

Here’s what you’ll do :

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Knowledge of operating a bag machine / will train
• Ability to read and write in order to fill out data reports on paper and on white boards every hour
• Must be able to lift more than 40lbs
• Observes processing procedures and informs workers to speed up, slow down, or temporarily cease operations to maintain plant efficiency
• Adjust equipment controls to their proper position and alignment to regulate speed of components
• Monitors critical equipment parameters
• Adjust machine controls to position and align, and to regulate speed and pressure of components.
• Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment, such as opening valves or setting guides.
• Monitors, adjusts and installs machine components, such as rollers, and templates, according to specifications using hand tools.
• Monitors operation of machine to detect malfunctions, removes defective or substandard materials, and readjusts machine components to conform to standards
• Reports worn or broken parts to their supervisor and may perform or assist in cleaning and lubricating equipment and machinery
• Performs sanitation during and after production

Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table :

High School diploma or general education degree or at least three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience preferred but not required

• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English. Conversational Spanish is highly desired but not required
• Must be able to perform basic arithmetic and algebraic functions
• Must be able to troubleshoot equipment / process problems and propose solutions. Problem-solving skills are essential to this position.
