LHH is ramping up a search for a Maintenance Production Engineer in the Metro Detroit area. The Maintenance Production Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our manufacturing operations.
This position requires a strong blend of technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to maintenance planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment and systems to minimize downtime and ensure reliability.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system failures in a timely manner.
Collaborate with production teams to prioritize maintenance activities and schedule downtime for repairs.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
Develop and maintain maintenance procedures, work instructions, and documentation.
Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance activities.
Monitor equipment performance metrics and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all maintenance activities.
Support capital projects by providing technical expertise and input during equipment selection and installation.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience (3+ years) in maintenance engineering or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including PLCs, motors, drives, and pneumatic / hydraulic systems.
Experience with preventive maintenance programs, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and predictive maintenance techniques (, vibration analysis, thermography).
Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
