Quality Engineer

The successful candidate will report to the Quality Manager and be responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the quality assurance process.

The Role

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Maintain quality records on internal results, internal corrective action process, MRB activity, RMA process and publishing reports to ADC Management for resolution.
• Work with manufacturing / quality staff to resolve or eliminate any quality issues disclosed by quality control process.
• Prepare required quality reports and follow up on any and all failure analysis / corrective action needed.
• Interface with customers to resolve quality issues. Investigate customer’s concerns regarding quality. Participate in various audits.
• Responsible for supporting the ISO Quality System.
• Participate in NPI meetings and collaborate with other departments as necessary on testing parameters relating to customer projects and programs.
• Provide ongoing manufacturing and quality engineering support to improve productivity and resolve issues.
• Oversee process development and control, designed to improve productivity and profitability while maintaining high outgoing quality.
• Review and analyze test equipment performance data.
• Communicate with customers in a timely manner.
• Monitor, Communicate & Improve both Customer and Internal KPI’s.
• Serve as key point of contact for Customer complaints directed from Customer Service or the Customer directly for Root Cause Analysis as well as Corrective & Preventive Action and verification.
• To perform inspection duties for incoming & outgoing materials as required.
• Promote and Drive Zero Defect mentality within the quality Organization for proactive tools such as lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke, Measurement System Analysis, Advance System Analysis, Advance Product and Quality Planning (APQP), Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
• Participating in joint evaluations and investigations with engineering to assess product anomalies and provide root cause corrective action plans.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Quality Engineer at Amphenol Industrial Operations Mesa

• B.S. in Electrical, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering. ISO training preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of Quality Assurance experience. Working in new product development is a plus.
• Experience in cabling, module and sub-assembly testing, and inspection.
• Excellent communication skills required, including being able to work with staff in China and Mexico that have English as a second language.
• Must have computer proficiency and knowledge of MS Word.
• Experience in maintaining a QMS that complies with ISO Certification.
