What you’ll be doing
- Advising and educating Consumers, guardians, families, representative payees, supports coordinators, and front-line supervisory employees about benefit eligibility.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the Social Security Administration and the Department of Human Services.
- Oversee Representative Payee accounts and benefit eligibility record maintenance
- Applies for Benefits such as food stamps and Medicaid for consumers
- Verify insurance coverage of each Consumer.
- Receives request for distribution of consumer funds and prepares Representative Payee for Social Security Beneficiary’s account checks for request processing.
- Complete the Social Security Administration level of care form when the consumer intakes, moves between programs, or discharges.
- Store all paperwork in designated places securing the important documents. Enter paperwork into an electronic system either by data entry or by using optical scanners
- Communicate with medical providers when addressing disputed medical bills and charges. Provide the correct insurance information for proper billing and resolution.
- Arranges and assists in audits to meet internal and external agency requirements, including reconciling the Representative Payee for Social Security Beneficiaries account and coordinating a monthly internal review of the account.
- Assist in reviewing and auditing the Residential Funds at each individual program for accuracy and compliance with CMH guidelines relating to Residential Funds Part I and Part II documentation.

Job Requirements
- Associate degree or years related experience required.
- Experience and understanding of Government and State benefit programs.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical processes that relate to budgeting.
- Ability to communicate in both written and oral formats to meet position responsibilities.
