PowerBuilder Developer

Are you an experienced PowerBuilder Developer looking for your next challenge? Our Cornerstone Core team is looking for a driven and passionate developer to join them!

We are happy for this position to be fully remote or based in one of our offices.

This role will be a part of the Cornerstone Core Platform Team, focused on Cornerstone software features, infrastructure, maintenance, and delivery.

On this team you will be designing and building functionality that supports users in the Veterinary field. Cornerstone is the primary information hub of it’s practices, supporting internal flows and hosting many integrations

A bit more about the role :

You will be a key contributor in a highly effective agile team delivering industry leading features.

You will mentor and guide team members.

You will lead technical discussions to influence decisions and designs across multiple squads.

You will plan, document and communicate technical projects.

You will foster a culture of innovation, inclusion and risk-taking in the engineering team.

You will partner closely with squad leadership to manage the software release cycle.

You will exercise your solid technical knowledge in customer facing software development.

You will collaborate with other internal and external technical teams to partner and influence support issues and product design.

So what are we looking for?

Extensive experience developing in PowerBuilder with PFC

Worked on major PowerBuilder projects in the past year

Market experience with relational databases preferably Postgres, Sybase, MySQL, Oracle and Structured Query Language (SQL).

Proven ability to write clean, documented, and reusable code

Strong communication and consulting skills

Ability to read and decipher legacy code

Ability to mentor junior developers

Extensive database experience in handling complex SQL statements and database objects

Strong understanding of object oriented programming concepts and MVC frameworks

Understanding of REST, JSON and XML

User of more than 1 programming language in a professional setting
