Responsibilities : Position Summary :

Position Summary :

The EKG Tech performs non-invasive diagnostic tests of the heart including EKG's, Holter Monitors and treadmill stress testing.

Additional tasks include; transporting patients to and from the Cardiopulmonary Department for testing, procedure room set-up and cleaning, maintaining department appearance, ordering supplies, filing, faxing, copying, scheduling patients for procedures, registering and preparing all paperwork for inpatients and outpatient procedures, batching and checking Cardiology billing, prepares all paperwork associated with all Cardio testing procedures for interpretation and distribution.

Required Qualifications :

CPR Card

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications :

Formal training 1 year cardiology department

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms

Physical Requirements : 1) Requires the ability to walk pushing up to 400 pounds frequently 2) Must be able to lift and carry boxes up to 20 pounds 3) Must have dexterity, coordination, visual / auditory acuity to perform duties 4) Must be able to turn and position patients up to several hundred pounds with help 5) Must be able to reach, stretch, and assist patients routinely.
