Director, Corporate Communications & Content (Pharmacy Benefit Management)

Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate Communications, the Director, Corporate Communications and Content plays a crucial role in RxBenefits' corporate and marketing communications team, developing and executing a content roadmap to boost brand awareness, engagement, and affinity amongst internal and external audiences.

Position Overview

The Director, Corporate Communications and Content serves as a collaborative, cross-functional storyteller with excellent projects skills who leads the way in identifying content needs across channels and audiences to support overall company goals.

The ideal candidate will quickly grasp RxBenefits’ value proposition, brand positioning, and messaging. As leader of a team of three, they will expertly develop compelling content and choose the right channels and tactics whether external, internal, owned, social, or paid for various initiatives and campaigns in support of brand building, corporate communications, and demand generation goals.

The role demands strong copywriting and content creation skills, a sense of urgency, and the ability to manage multiple projects and content types seamlessly.

Responsibilities :

  • Intimately understand RxBenefits products, services, and industry positions
  • Stay current on pharmacy benefit trends, as well as client and employee needs
  • Quickly identify content and communications opportunities to position the company and its executives as pharmacy benefit experts
  • Develop content in a variety of formats including long- and short-form, website copy, short teasers, newsletter copy, webinar scripts, video clips, and social posts
  • Support demand generation campaigns and other marketing initiatives leveraging the right content and channels
  • Think beyond specific campaigns and initiatives to identify and develop content that supports and enhances the RxBenefits brand identity
  • Stay abreast of content marketing best practices to identify content creation, curation, re-use, and optimization opportunities
  • Build, maintain and execute a robust calendar informed through collaboration with marketing colleagues and internal SMEs
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including ongoing campaigns and larger initiatives like website refreshes.
  • Assign and manage projects in Asana to ensure timely delivery of high-quality content.
  • Collaborate with internal SMEs to ensure content is compelling and meets business objectives
  • Apply digital marketing best practices to optimize web content for search rankings, domain authority, visits, conversions, and leads.

Qualifications

  • BA / BS in journalism, communications, or related field; Master’s level degree preferred
  • 12-15 years of experience telling stories and developing content as a journalist or in a communications- or content-focused role
  • Pharmacy / PBM experience required
  • Previous experience managing direct reports and / or leading a team
  • Strong project management, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Ability to write high-performing content across channels, formats, and audiences
  • Focused editorial mindset that recognizes the types and format of content to best engage with identified target audiences
  • Ability to transition between marketing and corporate communications focused content needs
  • Strong knowledge of AP style and ability to quickly get up-to-speed with brand style to inform own writing, as well as lead and develop other writers
  • Understanding of best practices for multimedia projects and ability to partner with creative and other teams
  • Basic understanding of SEO, content categorization and structure, content development, distribution, and measurement

Software Proficiency

  • Expertise in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with WordPress or another website CMS
  • Understanding of how to use SEO research tools
  • Familiarity with virtual meeting and webinar hosting platforms such as Teams, GoToMeeting, Zoom, GoToWebinar, and ON24
  • Ability to post content to SlideShare, YouTube, and other social channels
  • Understanding of how to use AI tools to help content development
