The Opportunity That Awaits You :

  • This role within the R&D PMO group is responsible for leading PROCEPT BioRobotics’ project management activities. The position manages projects adhering to PROCEPT BioRobotics’ internal design controls as well as in compliance with PROCEPT BioRobotics’ quality management system (QMS) and applicable global regulations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential to be successful in this role.
  • You the Senior Project Manager :
  • The central force propelling a project forward, set directions and ensure projects stay on course, moving from one phase to the next while avoiding obstacles and managing risks.
  • A driver who leads, oversees, and delivers projects through the PROCEPT BioRobotics Product Delivery Process (PDP). You will be accountable for guiding the cross-functional teams to ensure strategic alignment and execution of the project deliverables, provide timely and effective communication of project progress to the required quality / reliability standards and ultimately responsible for reaching the project’s goals on time and within budget.
  • Apply best practices and tools to deliver new products and / or improve existing ones consistent with the business’s strategy and objectives.
  • Advocates for resource and budgetary needs, and uses a leadership style that inspires teamwork, high standards, compliance and overall success in project results for the benefit of the customer and the company.

What Your Day-To-Day Will Involve :

  • Project Leadership :
  • Lead and manage multiple, high-impact projects through all stages of product life cycle from concept, design, development, validation and commercialization.
  • Run effective meetings to maintain project momentum and drive toward successful completion.
  • Ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams toward common goals, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.
  • Provide strategic direction, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Project planning :
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining detailed project plans, timelines, budgets and resource requirements. Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate shifting priorities and risks.
  • Monitoring progress, and directing resources; works with product owner / manager and product development team and retrospectives;

manages phase gate development processes; development plans in accordance to PROCEPT BioRobotics’ design controls procedures.

  • Communication :
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status risks and milestones.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate project goals, updates, and challenges effectively to stakeholders and team members.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between core team members : R&D, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory affairs, Supply Chain, Commercial and others.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork to drive project success.
  • Strong presentation skills : Clear communication, engaging delivery, convey information clearly and addressing key points for the audience.
  • Strategic Thinking :
  • Capacity to align project objectives with overall organizational strategy, ensuring projects contribute to broader business success.
  • Risk Management :
  • Skill in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to prevent project delays and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Solicits inputs from development team and stakeholders on project and product risks; anticipates, captures, and dispositions risk through the project risk registry or RAID log (risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies);

contributes to risk management activities and documentation.

The Qualifications We Need You to Possess

  • Education requirements
  • o BS or MS degree in Engineering
  • Work Experience
  • o A minimum of 8 years’ experience in project management within the medical device industry.
  • o A proven track record of successfully delivering new products through entire development cycle, from concept through launch is required.
  • Skills or Knowledge
  • o Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools (MS project, Smartsheet), and techniques.
  • o Effective Leadership skills.
  • o Effective Presentation skills.
  • o Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • o Strong interpersonal skills. Needs to have the ability to manage and influence vendor engineering teams.
  • o Strong knowledge of medical device regulations (FDA, ISO 13485 / 14971, EU MDR).
  • o Design Controls / Design History File
  • Travel
  • o Up to 10%, including domestics and occasional international travel.
  • Remote / Hybrid
  • o This role offers a combination of onsite presence at the company’s office in San Jose with occasional remote work

The Qualifications We Would Like You to Possess

  • A technical background in health care, medical devices, or pharmaceutical companies is strongly preferred
  • Experience related to the development of medical electronic devices comprising a combination of mechanical, electronic, integrated circuit, software and embedded system design is strongly preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred but not required.

Work Authorization Status : Citizen / Permanent Resident

For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $120,000- $151,000 per year.

Plus, eligibility for an annual bonus and equity / RSUs.

PAY RANGE TRANSPARENCY

Procept is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location.

Based on the factors above, Procept utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

We’ll provide you training for, and ask you to maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance.

We would also ask you to understand and adhere to the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality & EHS policies.
