We are working with a firm in the area that is seeking a an Experienced Criminal Defense Attorney in Westlake Village, CA to join their dynamic team.
Responsibilities :
- Provide expert legal representation and advice to clients facing criminal charges.
- Conduct thorough research and investigation to build a strong defense strategy.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and appeals.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff to effectively manage caseload.
- Stay up to date with criminal laws, regulations, and legal precedents
Essential Job Functions :
- Analyze case facts, evidence, and witness statements to develop effective defense arguments.
- Draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, and pleadings, to support client defense.
- Negotiate plea bargains and settlements on behalf of clients, when appropriate.
- Present persuasive oral arguments in court to defend clients' rights and interests.
- Advocate for clients during all stages of the legal process, ensuring fair treatment and just outcomes.
Skills :
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
- Admitted to practice law in California
- 2-7 years of practicing criminal defense law
- Solid understanding of criminal laws and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
