Job Description
Plans welding technique and sequence of welding operations on complete assemblies so that enclosed or overlapping component parts are welded in proper order to allow maximum accessibility to areas to be welded and to reduce distortions and strains to a minimum.
Uses gas, arc, TIG, MIG, Orbital and Plasma arc welding method according to established trade practice, blueprints, sketches, verbal and written instructions.
Performs such typical operations as welding by Tig, Mig, Orbital, gas, arc or helium arc structural and / or aircraft assemblies of various types and sizes, where extreme care must be exercised to prevent leaks and cracks.
Welds parts and assemblies which are to be machined to exacting tolerances where over-all penetrations must be uniform. Preheats own work by use of a torch.
Performs such typical operations as Tig, Mig, Orbital, gas, arc and helium arc welding of parts and / or assemblies of light gauge material (.
