General Information :
Purpose or role of the photographer assistant position within the Enrollment Marketing Office (summary of position) : Coordinate, produce, and deliver photography content consistent with the JMU Brand, aligned with university goals and targeted to inspire constituents to more deeply engage and invest in the university.
Duties and Responsibilities :
1. I understand it is my responsibility to accurately complete, sign and submit timesheets to my supervisor each pay period.
I also understand this is a condition of employment and after two consecutive time periods (1 month) of not submitting timesheets, I could be terminated from my position.
2. Coordinate, produce and / or direct the development of photography content for digital, print, social media and other delivery channels in support of university goals.
3. Provide general support and onsite photo support for priority initiatives.
4. Respond to photo assignments and project requests in a prompt, professional manner.
5. Assist the Director of Enrollment Marketing, Photo and Video Production Manager, and creative producers on other projects as necessary.
6. Complete post-production and editing of photo content in a timely, efficient manner using Adobe Lightroom.
7. Assign relevant keywords and tags to image metadata.
8. Maintain and update the University Photography archive.
9. Other duties assigned by the JMU Photography and Video Production Team
Qualifications :
Applicants must have prior photography experience and a basic understanding of processing photos using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
Conditions of Employment :
Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
Students must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA.
