Overview
The Preventative Maintenance Technician performs regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Participates in the preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, 5S and equipment improvement teams,
- Completes work orders in a safe and appropriate manner,
- Maintains open communication with production employees,
- Provides support to maintenance technicians,
- Ability to run basic machine shop equipment,
- Works within scheduling requirements,
- Performs tasks to install, monitor and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment to ensure reliability,
- Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines,
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service,
- Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and makes adjustments,
- Documents spare parts usage,
- Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties,
- Detects faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision,
- Performs other required tasks as assigned,
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience; preferably with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial knowledge,
- Familiar with manufacturing, safety and quality process concepts, practices, and procedures,
- Some knowledge and understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems,
- Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate,
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills,
- Ability to work within a team environment,
- Time management skills,
- Detail oriented
