Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth;
enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society

Minimum 30 college Hours
Special Knowledge / Skills :
Specific knowledge of subjects assigned
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
1. Assume responsibilities and duties assigned to the classroom teacher
2. Follow classroom teacher’s lesson plan
3. Possess good classroom management skills
4. Work cooperatively with principals, teachers, and students
5. Contribute to instructional growth of students
6. Responsible for providing a safe teaching environment for students
7. Comply with district policy, guidelines, and practice
8. Maintain confidentiality in all school matters
9. Maintain control of classroom at all times
10. Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Supervise assigned teacher aide(s) as required
EQUIPMENT USED :
Copier, personal computer and appropriate software, typewriter, printer, calculator, fax machine and audio-visual equipment

Physical Demands / Environmental Factors :
- Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, pushing; move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment;
- repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer terminal possible; occasional district-wide travel; occasional state-wide travel;
frequent prolonged and irregular hours; possible biological exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
