Rutherford County is one of the fastest growing counties in the state of Tennessee. We are currently seeking dependable Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians that can work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
As an AEMT , you will respond to emergency medical calls, perform extrication and life rescue, and provide basic life support to sick / injured persons in pre-hospital settings.
You will also maintain readiness for emergency response, responding to emergency calls, assessing condition of patients, providing basic life support at emergency scenes, transporting patients to medical facilities, driving ambulances, operating / utilizing / maintaining medical equipment, preparing charts and records.
As an AEMT with no experience, working on an ambulance on the convalescent side will allow you to gain the knowledge and practice to move to the 911 side within 6 to 12 months , based upon position availability.
You will learn and improve skills such as patient care, lifting and moving techniques, driving ambulances, as well as all equipment such as automatic lifts.
Shifts are six days a week, closed on Sundays, with varying hours mostly 12 hours or more without 24-hour shifts. We run 6 trucks a day and do 20-25 calls.
The flexible schedule is done a month in advance.
