Job Details : Purpose

Purpose

Design, integrate, field test, and document electronics hardware for Unmanned Underwater Vehicles Division (UUVD) systems in the Advanced Technology Lab (ATL).

Participate in the design, development, integration, and testing of UUV systems and associated high-frequency sensor components.

Responsibilities

Design and refine UUVD mechanical and electrical systems and components to improve repeatability and efficiency

Testing and troubleshooting of Unmanned Underwater Vehicles Divisions (UUVD) electromechanical assemblies, system software, and system acoustic functions.

I ntegrate and test new sensor systems and UUV capabilities in support of project goals and deliverables.

Perform field testing in support of various operational events both in-lab and at-sea, such as technology demonstrations, sell-offs, training events, system troubleshooting, and field upgrades.

Prepare written reports, PowerPoint slides and other graphical media of test event details and results.

Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other related discipline.

Experience in design, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical components for ocean systems.

Experience executing design and developmental testing of UUVs at sea.

Proven ability to take designs to completion including managing fabrication efforts and hands on assembly experience.

Candidate must have parametrically modeled custom mechanical components and assemblies for academic or work settings.

Experience with quality control of materials and finished components.

Evidence of skills in the following areas : working with new technologies, being highly organized, planning and coordinating multiple tasks, effective time management, attention to detail, effective problem-solving skills, using excellent judgment, working independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintaining a professional demeanor, working as a team member without daily supervision, effectively communicating with all groups of clients and organizations, working under pressure, accepting supervision and demonstrating regular / punctual attendance.

Experience with quality control of materials and finished components.

US Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

Three or more years related experience in the performance of UUV operations with REMUS and IVER UUV systems.

Demonstrated history of interactions with customers and sponsors.

Experience in using electrical diagnostic and repair equipment including multi-meter, oscilloscope, and soldering iron. IPC610 & IPC620 certifications.

Salary Range

$88,500-$120,000+ / negotiable depending on qualifications
