The Senior Director People Strategy will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the organization's talent and culture agenda.
This role involves developing and executing strategic initiatives to attract, develop, engage, and retain top talent, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decisions.
The Senior Director will work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure the people strategy aligns with the company's vision, mission, and goals, while guiding and supporting a team of Directors in key functional areas.
Essential Functions :
- Strategic Leadership :
- Develop and implement a comprehensive people strategy that supports the organization's business objectives, using data analytics to inform and refine strategic decisions.
- Partner with executive leadership to drive organizational change and foster a high-performance culture.
- Guide, support and oversee the Director of Learning and Professional Development, Director of DEI, and Director of HR to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and operational excellence.
- Talent Management :
- Oversee the design and implementation of talent management programs, including recruitment, retention, development, and succession planning.
- Collaborate with the Director of Learning and Professional Development to build leadership capabilities and develop talent across the organization.
- Implement strategies to attract and retain top talent, ensuring a diverse and inclusive workforce.
- Employee Engagement and Culture :
- Work with the Director of DEI to develop and execute strategies that enhance workplace culture, inclusivity, and employee satisfaction.
- Lead efforts to create an inclusive work environment that values diversity and promotes equity.
- Champion initiatives that promote employee well-being and work-life balance.
- Organizational Development :
- Partner with business leaders and the Director of HR to identify organizational development needs and implement strategies to address them.
- Lead efforts to assess and enhance organizational effectiveness, including structure, processes, and systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance organizational performance and agility.
- Performance Management :
- Oversee the development and implementation of performance management systems that align with the organization's goals.
- Ensure that performance metrics are in place to evaluate the effectiveness of people strategies and initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to leaders in managing and developing their teams.
- Compliance and Risk Management :
- Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, working closely with the Director of HR.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to people management and organizational development.
- Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures to support a fair and equitable workplace.
Position Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Certification or willing to obtain within 1 year.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in human resources, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of talent management, organizational development, and employee engagement practices.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful people strategies in a complex organization.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong business acumen and ability to align people strategies with business goals.
- Experience in leading and managing a team, with a focus on development and performance.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

Philadelphia Residency Requirement :
The successful candidate must be a current Philadelphia resident or become a resident within six months of hire.
