Our client, a major Oil & Gas company is seeking a Junior Procurement Associate to work within their facilities located in Houston, TX for a 12-month contract (possible to extend).
Responsible for processing purchase order requests for materials and services and procuring them in a timely and cost-effective manner meeting business requirements and specifications and reviews and analyzes purchase requisition requirements.
Accountabilities :
- Review and process purchase requisitions for goods / services
- Submit RFQs to suppliers / contractors
- Maintain records in accordance with established policies and procedures and audit
- Release reviewed and approved purchase orders to suppliers.
- Validate and execute change orders related to material or services
- Validate and reconcile supplier invoices, manages invoice resolution and corresponds with supplier / contractor, Accounts Payable or stakeholder regarding invoicing discrepancies.
- Complete all required close out activities for materials and services
- Ensure assigned Supply Chain procedures and initiatives minimize risks
- Other duties as required
Requirements :
- University degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, Economics or related field, 3 years' experience
- Previous related experience within Supply Chain as a materials / services
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
- Basic understanding of supply chain concepts
- Knowledge of MS Office, MS Excel, MS Power Point and SharePoint.
It will be preferred if you have :
- Knowledge of Procurement processes / policies such as SOX policies.
- Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures and industry trends.
- Enrollment in a professional designation program in a related field e.g. Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) / Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or equivalent.
