Our clientis seeking an experienced and passionate Chief Audio System DesignEngineer to lead the design architecture and development of audiosystems and algorithms for advanced wearables.
The candidate willhave significant influence over the product development processcontributing to innovations that directly impact user safetycomfort and productivity.

KeyResponsibilities :
- Leadthe design and development of audio systems including architectureand algorithms / DSP for wearabledevices.
- Conductempirical and subjective tuning measurements and critical listeningof systems underdevelopment.
- Modeland simulate acoustic systems including microphone arrays andsignal processingalgorithms.
- Buildacoustic testing frameworks and backendsystems.
- Prototypeaudio systems using basic electronics andhardware.
- Collaboratewith toptier vendors including chip microphone and transducersuppliers throughout the product developmentlifecycle.
- Workclosely with mechanical DSP and electrical engineers to ensureseamless integration of audiocomponents.
Requirements
Required
- 2years of experience designing acoustic systems for wearable devices(e.g. headphonesearbuds).
- 5years of experience in acoustic testing measurement and workingwith tools such as Audio Precision Klippel Clio orSoundCheck / Listen.
- 3years of experience with audio algorithms and digital signalprocessing(DSP).
- Indepthknowledge of audio ASICs transducers microphones amplifiers and DSPsystems.
- Strongunderstanding of acoustics and psychoacoustics with excellentcritical listeningskills.
- Familiaritywith both current and emerging technologies in wearableaudio.
- Mustbe eligible to work in the U.S. within 3 months with norestrictions on internationaltravel.
- Abilityto commute to the Chicago office on a dailybasis.
Preferred
- 5years of experience developing audio systems for wearablesincluding features like adaptive noise cancellation andtransparencymodes.
- Handsonexperience with Qualcomm GreenWaves ADI or Airohachipsets.
- 3years of experience inpsychoacoustics.
- Astrong background in acoustics electrical engineering mechanicalengineering or a related field is preferred but notrequired.
Options for remote work but must have the ability to come into theNYC office as needed for meetings. Ultra High-End ResidentialAudiovisual and Smart Home designs, working with high net-worthfamily offices, architects, home designers, and the internal designteam.
Supervisory experience a must- will have 5 direct reports.Residential AV experience is required, ideally a minimum of 5years.
Experience with design for large-scale residential AVprojects, $200,000 orhigher.
Education
