To support our North American team, we are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join us. You will be working on exciting infrastructure projects across the country, along with our highly professional team that provides technical expertise, design leadership, project management, and specialized engineering expertise.
Your key responsibilities will be to :
- Perform 3-D soil-structure interaction analysis, geotechnical analysis, and dynamic analysis using advanced finite element software.
- Prepare design deliverable documents and handle quality control validation of detailed calculations, design drawings, and specifications.
- Visit site and client offices as required by the project ( 10 percent of job responsibilities may take place out of the office).
- Have frequent in-person and virtual interfaces with Technical Leads, Project Director, Project Manager, design team, BIM / CADD team, etc.
- Perform engineering and analysis for the design of tunnels and shafts in soft ground, mixed conditions, and rock (initial support and final lining).
This will include the use of various tunnel construction methods such as drill and blast, sequential excavation method SEM), or TBM.
- Apply rock and soil mechanics skills to evaluate various failure modes and develop ground support schemes.
- Interpret and organize design results into project documentation such as Technical Memos, Geotechnical Data, Interpretive, or Baseline Reports, or Basis of Design reports.
- Characterize and classify ground conditions for different tunnelling methods based on geotechnical information.
- Communicate design work through the Preparation of drawing sketches indicating support types, geometry, construction sequencing, and instrumentation.
- Use tunnel analysis and design software such as, PLAXIS 2D and 3D, FLAC / FLAC3D, and other foundation design software.

On top of that, you will :
- Hold an M.S. or higher degree in Geotechnical Engineering, focusing on the design of underground structures and deep foundations, along with 4 to 6 years’ experience working as a geotechnical engineer
- Possess a Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.) or can obtain the same within 6 months of employment
- Comprehensive understanding of geotechnical engineering fundamentals, including soil and rock mechanics.
- Be experienced in soil-structure interaction and preparing and performing geotechnical engineering designs and calculations
- Effective written and oral communication abilities, adept at presenting complex technical concepts in an understandable manner.
- Have experience with finite element software such as PLAXIS and / or FLAC
- Be able to interface with other technical disciplines (structural, electrical, mechanical, BIM, CADD, etc.)
