The company has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer with a strong background in electronic design using embedded microcontrollers and firmware development, to join our team.
Primary Job Responsibilities :
- Actively contributes to development projects as a member of Raycap’s local and global technical engineering teams
- Designs and lays out printed circuit boards using the Altium software suite
- Manages the efficient and timely translation of customer needs into viable marketable solutions
- Evaluates electrical systems, products and applications, to design optimal solutions for our customers
- Assures product quality during production by designing electrical testing methods at both board and system level
- Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Provides technical support to inside and outside sales personnel
- Adheres to Raycap’s Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management (EMS), and Occupational Health & Safety (OHSA) and procedures
Qualifications / Experience :
- This position requires a BSEE or MSEE
- 1 - 5 years of product development experience in an electronic / electrical manufacturing environment
- Design experience in one of the following product segments : Power, energy, defense, industrial automation and / or control industriesTelecommunications, RF applications & testing and DC circuitsPrior experience in the design of Surge Protection Devices will be a plus
- Analog and digital electronic design and schematic capture
- Experience with embedded microcontroller designs, ICE and IDE development tools and C programming.
- Strong organizational and time management skills and an ability to adapt to changing requirements and circumstances
- Strong verbal presentation, writing and computer application skills
- An able to simultaneously manage several objectives and changing priorities
- An ability to interpret a multitude of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Willingness to work in a cooperative and effective manner while under pressure to meet deadlines
