Position Title : Senior Associate, Social Media Content Status : Full Time FLSA : Exempt Location : Washington, DC (Hybrid) (2 days in office, 3 days remote) JOB SUMMARY & KEY PRIORITIES Active Minds meets the next generation where they are with the mental health messages they need, and that means meeting them on social media.

The Senior Associate, Social Media Content will use memes, GIFs, reels and posts to share the voice of Active Minds and inform the wider conversation about mental health.

This individual will implement the organization’s social media program reaching more than 350,000 followers, and will fulfill regular expectations for creating, coordinating, and posting content to the many social platforms that communicate Active Minds’ programmatic work to promote mental health for young adults nationwide.

The Senior Associate, Social Media Content will report to the Manager, Digital Media in addition to collaborating with other staff to tell the Active Minds story.

Through our many programs, we are changing social norms and behaviors related to mental health across the country. KEY RESULTS Social Media Engagement (60%) Manage Active Minds’ day-to-day presence on social media, including implementation of posting plans on all channels, overseeing social media takeovers, and production of live social video content.

Lead development of new video content for video-heavy social platforms, including Snapchat, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.

Contribute to the development of strategies to enhance the success and optimal engagement for content across channels with an emphasis on new and innovative vehicles to reach target audiences.

Working with the Manager, Digital Media prepares social media engagement toolkits (recommended visuals, content, and schedules) for Active Minds partners, members, Ambassadors, and Amplifiers.

In collaboration with members of the Visual Brand / Design team, develop visual content for use on social channels and to include in toolkits and partnership plans (with funders and other stakeholders).

Manage the Social Media intern in developing trending and relevant content. Measure and monitor social engagement, as well as prepare reports for internal stakeholders to review on a regular basis.

Lead communication and planning with internal stakeholders to collect and share content of Active Minds’s national presence, including event coverage, media and press features, and virtual opportunities.

Community Management (30%) Lead Active Minds’s social media community management, engaging directly on a regular basis with our audience and potential external partners / collaborators.

Utilize DMs and social group chats as strategic communications tools to rally our network to action, or to raise awareness of a strategic resource or program.

Maintain best practices and recommendations for emerging content and platforms reflective of trends seen across media platforms.

Additional Responsibilities (10%) Participate fully in Active Minds’ Anti-Racism and Inclusion strategy, including serving on internal committees and continuing personal growth and knowledge gaining.

Maintain comprehensive standard operating procedure documents / how-to’ for Comms team relating to social media engagement.

Other duties as assigned. ABOUT YOU Creative content developer and communicator, able to maintain and develop Active Minds’ approachable voice and visual representation.

Accustomed to working on multiple projects with different deadlines simultaneously. Dynamic, professional, and poised brand ambassador for Active Minds.

Belief that equity and social justice are important and driven to hear, reflect, and act on this belief. Ability to communicate effectively and enthusiastically in person, over the phone, and in writing, and with fellow staff members.

Stickler for details and quality. Self-starter with a positive attitude who enjoys working proactively and thinking creatively.

Advocate for social entrepreneurship and a believer in young people making an impact. You need to have : 2-3 years of professional marketing or communications experience.

Extensive experience coordinating and creating social-focused video content. Comfort being the primary outward face of Active Minds’s social media presence.

Ability to be nimble and successfully operate within a growing creative team. Experience with social media management products and digital marketing tools such as Canva, WordPress, and Pardot preferred.

Digitally-literate, including Microsoft and Google products, social media, and online meeting tools. Experience with CRM systems (ex.

Salesforce) and databases a plus. COMPENSATION This position offers a salary range of $56,000-$61,000 along with robust benefits.

The starting pay for this position is equal to others at the same level throughout the organization. Candidates whose experience meets both the minimum and preferred qualifications may be considered for a starting salary that exceeds the current amount.

The role sits within Active Minds Level 2 salary band, and as such, has the potential to grow to $72,000 over time. FLSA Status : Exempt.
