Position : Journeyman Carpenter

Location : Kahului, HI (West Maui)

Pay : $83,200 / year

Experience :

• 4 years of experience as a journeyman carpenter or completion of a recognized apprenticeship program
• Experience with custom carpentry or specialized finishes is preferred

Education : Carpentry certification or equivalent is preferred. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.

Employers Options is seeking an Experienced Journeyman Carpenter to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description :

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical drawings to ensure project specifications are met
• Build, install and repair frameworks, partitions, joists and other wooden structures
• Install doors, windows, trim, cabinetry and other finishing materials with precision and attention to detail
• Safely operate hand and power tools including saws, drills and sanders : maintain personal carpentry tools and ensure they are in good working condition
• Measure and cut materials to the required specifications, ensuring minimal waste : install various materials including wood, plywood, drywall and metal
• Inspect work during and after completion to ensure it meets industry standards and project requirements
• Work closely with other tradespeople, including electricians and plumbers, to ensure the project runs smoothly and on time
• Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with OSHA regulations

Position Requirements :

• Must own reliable transportation and basic carpentry tools
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, building codes and safety practices
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and blueprints
• Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods and work in various weather conditions
• Effective verbal communication skills for working in a team environment
