Position Summary :
Performs high quality nuclear medicine and PET / CT procedures in accordance with established protocols. Interacts with patients, physicians, and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
Applies knowledge of radiation protection, emergency protocols and procedures, and proper equipment utilization to maximize safety in the work environment.
Maintains nuclear medicine equipment in optimum working condition.
Education / Experience :
Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program and / or AART Nuclear Medicine certification required. One year of nuclear medicine experience desired.
Must be willing to participate in continuing education to remain current of technical advances.
Special Knowledge / Skills / Certifications / Licenses :
Must be able or willing to be trained in administering intravenous radioactive chemicals. Must be willing to participate in continuing education to remain current of technical advances.
Ability to assess results, problem solve, and use independent judgment.
Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification and / or graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program is required.
Strong interpersonal relations and team building skill required.
Must maintain current CPR skills.
Demonstrates knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
Additional Information :
0.6 FTE position to allow for PET / CT volumes increases post expansion project.
